It was raining when we got there Thursday evening and was still raining Friday all morning. We were just glad it wasn't cold and the kids were old enough to handle it! The rain went away Friday after lunch and never returned! The kids slept like little logs last night. Sometimes a few days of camping makes your own bed that much better!

We had a great time....so many pictures to share! The orchard suffered a weird freeze over Easter so there were NO apples to pick! We went to the orchard anyway and bought some in support of the orchard. It was so good to see our friends the Pucketts, it had been 2 years! The kids had so much fun and really picked up where they left off. Good friends. We did a lot of bike riding, hiking, playing in the river and eating! It was much warmer weather than we have ever had before, almost too warm. O gets his cast off tomorrow- good thing as he got it pretty wet (more than once). Keeping him out of the river was impossible. The kids all are tired and so are we. Off to do laundry....................the laundry. Ugh

Bill is back in DC. Again. Yuck. Why is it that whenever we are scheduled to go out of town he leaves for business right before our family trip? I think he does it on purpose. We leave Thursday after school for the mountains. This is one of my most favorite trips. I am very busy this week.

I love fall

With the weather finally changing we are able to have lots of fun outside!! It's where we love to be. We went over to the land trust for a little morning swing! Cait is napping and O helped make pumpkin chocolate chip bread! One for us and one (I hope) to take to the mountains! Smells good.

I really thought I posted a b-day thing yesterday...........guess not. John is 7! We had a really nice family celebration since his day was on a school day. Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Mark had dinner with us and of course birthday cake. I think John had a great day. Can't believe he's 7!!!!

It was hanging by a thread. He did pull it out tonight! He was very excited. He left a note for the tooth fairy asking her to leave some money and please don't take his tooth!

Owen's cast

He picked out blue for his cast. Dr's visit went well, he thinks O actually broke both bones in his arm but they should heal quickly. He will get his cast off Oct 10..............right after our apple picking trip. Too bad it couldn't be before then. He's dealing with all this beautifully.
