San Antonio

I love having access to Kathy's blog.

I'm in San Antonia for a conference this week and have been enjoying my stay on the Riverwalk. To the left is a picture of the Alamo. I've not been and am not going because the real one was destroyed and what they have up there now is a "re-creation". I have, however, enjoyed the local cuisine, which consists of Mexican food and beef. My boss, Fran, who used to live here, took me to a restaurant last night where they served ceviche (sp?). The real stuff. Chunks of fish so large I had to cut them. Puts El Vallarta (Marshville, NC) to shame. Leaving tomorrow (Fri) for Atlanta, where I will re-join my family after they've all been sick. Thanks Nanny and Grandad.

It was a long and difficult week. I don't really want to blog about it yet. I will miss my Aunt Rita deeply.

Getting Kathy and Cait Home

It was easy getting Kathy and Cait on an airplane to Manlius.  Price was right too.  Then we decided to bring Kathy home early.  The change cost more than the original roundtrip.  And everyone else had to scramble to find flights ... one thing you can say about Manlius ... you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave!

Zach's French Fry

I'm the first to admit that this is a very un-appetizing photo, but Zach wanted me to publish it.  I dressed it up a bit.  We had curly fries with our burgers tonight.  With three boys, the competition was who could find the longest curly-fry.

Zach won.

Temperature

Kathy and Cait are in Manlius, NY visiting Tractor Lady. Our prayers are with you Rita. You too, Gerry. And Granma, Granpa, Uncle Mark and Mom.

We've been watching the weather. The number on the left is in Manlius. The number on the right is Atlanta. These readings were taken midday today. They are both in Fahrenheit. And no, the one on the left is not a typo!

Even though Manlius is colder than our freezer, we wish we were up there with you, Rita. Sending our prayers and love.
